The Teaching Assistant – Level 2 Course is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of teaching / classroom assistant roles.

It aims to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills appropriate to the conduct of a classroom support role, and to participation in a wide range of classroom support activities.

This qualification will enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs, and communication and professional relationships.

The home study courses are designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive a course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by mail and email. Each unit is followed by a written assignment, marked by your tutor. No external examination is required. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of enrolment.

On successful completion on this course students will receive an accredited Level 2 Certificate of Achievement.
