Open Heart Training is offering you a chance to study our CACHE Level 3 Preparing to Work in Home-Based Childcare.

This course is specifically designed for people working in childcare within a home setting, such as child-minders and au pairs. This qualification prepares learners to set up a home-based childcare setting as a registered child-minder.

This course is designed for students who wish to be employed in home based childcare settings as child minding assistants or other home child carers (e.g. nannies, au pairs). It teaches the necessary requirements for setting up a childcare business in a home setting and gives Cache certification, which is fully accredited by Ofsted and required for child-minders and au pairs in various local authorities.

Upon completion of this qualification, students are awarded a CACHE Level 3 certificate and an OLC Certificate. All certification fees are included in your course fees.

Trainer or assessor

You’ll design and deliver learning and development sessions to improve the knowledge and skills of staff.

Trainers or assessors could work for a social care employer and deliver training to all staff within the organisation, or could work for a training provider who delivers training to different social care employers.

Your role might include:

• Doing assessments to ensure all staff have the right skills and knowledge for their roles
• Designing and delivering training yourself or commissioning training from external suppliers
• Evaluating how effective training has been
• Keeping training records for staff
• Supporting staff that are completing qualifications, and assessing their work.
